Child abuse
By Rae
What do you think? A parent comes home in a bad mood, calls their child
- And then starts beating into them.
Children are not punching bags. We are to be loved and cared for. Yes,
we may do some things wrong but its no reason to beat us.
I am a child and I know someone who has been abused. They are so upset
and depressed they dont want to live.
How would you feel if you went home and got a fist in your face? Then kicked
around until before death, left to feel sorrow for yourself. That is wrong.
Yes we should stand up for ourselves but we are too scared of the parents
thinking they will abuse us even more then they did before. If you abuse
your child stop it (take a step from your shoes and into theirs).
Yes, we children can ring the Help Line if we have been abused - but
what if our parents find out? They would beat us even more for getting
someone
involved. Of course child abusers dont want any one to know that
they beat their child when they get home from a bad day at work.
These are the words they say, If I hear that anyone has found out
what I do, you will get twice the beating! The Help Line cant
help us kids when parents say that to us.
My generation will also have to deal with becoming child abusers once
they start having kids. Hopefully if we know how much it hurts to be
beaten
by a parent we wont ever do the same thing.
If we beat our child then we are doing what our mother or father did to
us.
Then we are stupid and I would admit that I was doing that.
Abuse of all forms hurts deep inside, and can wreck your childhood. I know
of someone who is now 15 with the mind of a thirty two year old. That person
had no childhood and they regret that they had nothing to remember later
in life. Nothing to tell their children.
So think about abuse before it wrecks a childs life.

as part of the literacy project in 1999.
The Ross Smith E-View was
started this year after articles were put onto an international schools
website with wired.com, but in 2002 Ross Smith has made a magazine
on the net for themselves.
